Frequently asked questions
How do I use it?
Pick where you're going, then point the camera at the sign on the platform that lists the stations (the one that shows which way each track goes) and take a photo. Forky answers LEFT or RIGHT, and you can open the route, timetable and fast-exit doors from there.
It says it can't read any station names.
Get closer so the station names fill more of the photo, avoid strong glare, and hold still. A failed read never uses up a free scan. If the answer looks wrong, scan again within 30 seconds: that re-scan is free.
Why does it ask where I am?
To know which platform you're standing on, ForkTeller needs your station. With location allowed it picks the nearest station on your phone; you can also choose it yourself or photograph the station name board. Your location never leaves your phone.
Why can't I scan any more today?
ForkTeller includes 3 free sign scans a day; they come back at midnight. You can watch a short ad for one more scan, or get ForkTeller Lifetime. Everything else (stations, route, map, timetable, doors) stays free.
What is ForkTeller Lifetime?
A one-time purchase, not a subscription. It removes the daily limit and the ads, forever, on the App Store or Google Play account that bought it.
I bought Lifetime but it isn't active.
Open the gear → Restore purchases. Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple ID or Google account that made the purchase. If it still isn't unlocked, send us feedback or email us and we'll sort it out.
How do I get a refund?
Payments are handled by Apple and Google, so refunds are requested from them: Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, Google Play from the order history in your Google account.
Does ForkTeller upload my photos?
No. Signs are read on your phone, and photos are never uploaded or stored by us. See the Privacy Policy.
Which cities does it cover?
The Seoul Metropolitan Subway. Station names are shown in English and Korean.
